Thevius Bust, part 0 – history

Busts Twitch Stream

Today I painted the skin and eyes of the 3D printed bust of Thevius, the Tiefling Rogue/Ranger. It is a 3D model designed by Loot Studio’s that I printed on my Anycubic Mono SE resin printer. It was one of the first models I printed and has a few flaws in it.

His goaty for example is made of green stuf, as it did not print. Just like the tip of his little ponytail. On the top of his head, right in the middle of his hair, is a small shallow hole. Small imperfections that bring a bit of (personal) nostalgia to the model. Every owner of a 3D printer did have some of these results. And for me; it gives the model that little bit extra.

I am painting this model on stream (Twitch/thebaldgm) as it is the Fallen Hairs Community Challenge. Once a year my community members have the possibility to choose a model (large model, bust or set of models) that I am afraid of to paint as it could be quite a challenge. If they collect enough channel points (called Fallen Hairs) I have to paint that model. And in September 2023 they made it happen for this model.

Hellboy

From the first moment I saw this bust I saw him painted as Hellboy; a bright red skin. But red can be a really difficult color to highlight (I thought at the time). By the time I started painting the skin, I had learned layering, wetblending and glazing. At least good enough to paint the skin.
